What if you woke up tomorrow in a country across the ocean with no memory of how you got there? That’s what happens to Jess, after a bad date with a grumpy Irish guy. Next thing she knows, she’s in Ireland, and bad-date-guy’s brother is asking her if she’s lost outside of his mechanic shop.
Spontaneous Magical Realism Trip To Ireland, Anyone?

Brother’s name is Eamonn, by the way, and he’s a broody Irishman with *the eyes*. You know, the I see you eyes. The this can’t be anything except falling in love with you eyes. I mean, ’nuff said, am I right?
Jess is stuck in Ireland with literally nothing but the clothes she’s wearing (no money, no passport, no phone), and Eamonn, the gentleman that he is, can’t just let this disoriented woman wander off unassisted, once he understands that something is wrong.
So they go, wandering the streets of Dublin, getting to know one another in all the most meaningful ways.
Sometimes it only takes a matter of hours to fall in love.
I adored this book. Magical realism isn’t usually my thing, but I was able to put that aside as I devoured this story. That’s how you know it works. It’s the little things. The moments that might happen any day of your life, but they’re different this time. It’s the vulnerability that you sometimes are more comfortable sharing with an absolute stranger than someone you’ve known forever.
It also reminds me, strongly, of a certain rom-com starring Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo, but saying it out loud might be too spoiler-y? If you know, I guess you know!
Overall, very strong book. Recommend all around!
