Book Review:: All We Have is Time | Amy Tordoff

Marketed to fans of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and The Ministry of Time, two books I utterly adore, the team for All We Have is Time absolutely nailed it!

All We Have is Time by Amy Tordoff Book Cover

This is a book about two people falling in love…except, they belong to different centuries. While Addie LaRue was cursed to not be able to leave a mark on the world, instantly forgotten by anyone she met, Beatrix, after a deathbed wish, simply enjoys the life of an immortal…and a very, very good memory.

Then she meets the most particular man at The Globe Theater, and after she tried to steal from him, she finds she quite enjoys his company. When she sees him again, years later, looking exactly as he was once before, they reconnect, and something truly special begins to take root.

While Beatrix is anchored in time, living each lonely year at a time, Oliver is a master of it. From the future, he was gifted a travel package with a time tourism company. He has a long list of events to experience first hand—Beatrix was an unexpected, delightful bonus.

When they finally reveal the truth to one another, they start to plan their rendezvous, Beatrix waiting years between visits, while it is only a matter of days for Oliver. And when she finds out the other secret he’s been keeping, it changes everything.

Gah, am I just a sucker for a time-travel romance, or what? They seem to get me every single time. I felt the tug of this one from the first few pages, and I knew I was going to love it. Is there any greater feeling than that?

It is really, remarkably similar to The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue in some ways, but it is also very much its own thing. That is to say, if you really loved LaRue and have been looking for something to scratch that very particular kind of itch, my dear, you’ve found it!

If you’ve gotten this far into this review, stop kidding yourself. You’re going to read this book, and chances are, you’re going to love it, too. Congratulations, good tidings, and salutations, my friend. You’re in for a treat.

Note:: I received an early copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
